The first batch of artificially cultivated black pines post–World War II, also known as "jitsumono," underwent nearly a century of meticulous cultivation.

Their branches are evenly distributed and remarkably sturdy, reflecting the aesthetic preferences of the era in which they were shaped. As a result, they encapsulate traces of ingenuity and craftsmanship from different epochs.
