紫薇,千屈菜科落葉亞喬木,原生長於中國等熱帶亞洲地區。花期長,自農曆四月延續到九月,因而有「百日紅」之美稱。其樹姿優美,花色鮮麗,常被描繪為高貴、優雅的形象,成為文人墨客的靈感之源。唐朝詩人張籍在其詩作中,以紫薇比喻君子之德,充滿對生命和美好的讚頌。

The lagerstroemia, a deciduous sub-tree from the Lythraceae family, is native to China and other tropical regions of Asia. It has an extended blooming period from April to September of the lunar calendar, and it is often referred to as the "Hundred Days Red."

Its graceful form and vibrant blossoms have long been associated with nobility and elegance, inspiring poets and scholars alike. For example, Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji used it as a metaphor for the virtues of a gentleman, expressing admiration for both life and beauty.
